WARHAMMER 40K 10th Edition League
Warhammer 40k 10th Ed. League: SEASON TWO 2024 (April/May)
The purpose of this page is to create a standardized rule set for league play using the current edition and evolving rules of the 40k game. This is to provide a clear understanding of what you can expect when you play at Muse Comics & Games, and the way that the league will be organized and structured. Our mission as organizers is to encourage players to have FUN, centered in the Warhammer 40k hobby.
- This season we will host 2 Open Play Leagues. Combat Patrol and Competitive. (Standings at bottom of this page, undated weekly)
- Each League (Combat Patrol & Competitive) will have an open play period that will culminate to a play-off bracket. This means players can play and participate anytime they want!
- Open play means games can be played at any time in-store or at home during the open play period of this season!!
- We have 2 tables available in-store with terrain assortments that are free to use (1st come-1st serve). These tables can be used anytime our gaming center area is open (check our current schedule for times). A 3rd & 4th table may be set up if needed on request basis provided our other paid events don’t need the table space.
- Games must be reported to Muse Comics in-store, over the phone, or email to be accounted and updated to league standings
- Join our DISCORD to communicate with other players and connect to schedule games!
PLAYER GUIDELINES (both leagues):
- Players MUST provide a copy of their army lists (Point cost of models and upgrades included) to their opponent during the “muster armies” stage of each game. We suggest exporting txt-based lists (battlescribe, ect.) to your opponent.
- Players need to arrive prepared for their game. Examples:
- Dice
- Measuring tape
- Rulebooks and Codex and/or Datacards
- Charged devices if using electronic rule sources
- Wound counters
- Line-of-Sight devices/lasers (pew-pew)
- Glue (MEDIC!!)
- Players are expected to know their army well enough that they can find rules & list specifics, should your moves, plays, special abilities or point values be questioned.
- Y.S.I.W.Y.G. Player’s armies and miniatures must be modeled to include any upgrade equipment and/or weaponry that the figure has paid to use in the game. Examples: Power weapons, heavy and medium weapons like Lascannons and melta-guns, vehicle weapons like Hunter Killer-Missiles, etc. Vehicles must be fully modeled to display all its additional weaponry options if taken.
- 3D printed models and 3rd party models ARE NOT ALLOWED. Bitz/conversions are allowed but fully 3D printed models will not be allowed.
- Horde armies must have some way of distinguishing individual units. This can be color coding, conversions, decals, bases etc.
- Forge World models and rules may be used if they are approved models and/or rules for use in GW open events. (Battlescribe & GW 40K App list legal units). Forgeworld models standing in as models from the 40K source materials is allowed as long as the model is on it’s correct base size.
- TOXIC & UNSPORTMANLIKE BEHAVIOR will not be tolerated. Crushing new players under your heal and apologizing for O.P. rules while you exploit them to decimate your opponent isn’t fun for anyone.
- The universe is grimdark enough…lift each other up while you try to obliterate one another.
Competitive League: is designed for experienced players looking for a challenge and/or players looking to practice for high level play like GW Opens Events. This league will be 2000pt games using the most current FAQ, codex books, mission sets and terrain/board layouts.
- 10th edition rules set and FAQ/datasheet updates will be used in every game. If new datasheets and updates are announced they will be league legal the day they are released.
- Leviathan Missions randomly chosen each game. If new mission packs are release the league will use those mission and/or table layouts on release day of said new mission packs.
- Painting is not required but, remember that fully painted and based armies get 10 points!
- All players must abide to the army construction rules for 10th ed and play a 2000 point army (MAX).
- Structures/terrain features on the base/outline of terrain count as line of sight blocking on the ground floor. (example: Models may shoot and be seen if they are on the base/outline of terrain unless they are behind a terrain structure on the ground floor of that base/outline.)
- Tables/terrain during open play “should” use the provided table layout & terrain (pics below). However, if both players agree to terrain rules and set up before the game they may set up a board however they agree. If players cannot agree then the GW recommended table set-up must be used.
- Players score their best 8 games played during the open season of the league to set their standings for bracket play in play-offs.
- Players can only play the same person twice during the open play portion of the league.
- Players must score at least 4 games to qualify for the play-off finals brackets.
