COMPETITIVE PIONEER TOURNAMENT

• Testing a players understanding of the game & skilled abilities in a rigid tournament environment.
• These events have prizing incentivized to winning each round/match.
• This event seeds into Regional Champions and eventually the Pro Tour of MTG
• GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTETED OF ALL PLAYERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER COMPETITIVE EVENTS.

Format: Competitive Pioneer

• Players must register 60 card (minimum) decks with 15 card (max) sideboards
• Players may only use Modern legal cards.
• Proxies and counterfeit cards will not be permitted any any events hosted in our establishment.

Structure: Swiss

• 3-5 Swiss Rounds then Top 8 Bracket if 17+ participants
• 50 Minutes per round (top 8 untimed)
• Best of 3 games each round
• Points per round:
  • Win = 3 points
  • Tie = 1 point
  • Lose = zero points

Rule Enforcement Level (REL):  Competitive

• Players must register their deck lists with judge staff (collected at start of event).
• Altered cards need to be verified with judge staff before the event begins.
• Players must have a registered and verified WOTC account to participate in this event.

JUDGES & OFFICIATORS: Certified L2 Head Judge and L1 floor judge will be onsight.

Time:

• Doors open 11:30am
• Play begins at High Noon. (Hey this is Montana what do you expect?)

Entry: $30.00 per player

• 48 player cap (please preregister online or instore)
• Preregister instore or online to guarantee your seat.
• Refunds only given as store credit.
• Please use provided event codes in the WOTC Companion App after purchase.

PRIZES:  $5.00 of each entry will be used to pay the judge staff.

  • 2nd– 25% Prize Pool + Dreamhack Promotional Material
  • 3rd– 12.5% Prize Pool + Dreamhack Promotional Material
  • 4th– 12.5% Prize Pool + Dreamhack Promotional Material
  • 5th thru 8th– Dreamhack Promotional Material
• 17 + Players Payout:
  • $100 of prize pool reserved for 5th thru 8th prizing
  • 1st– 50% Prize Pool + Dreamhack Promotional Materials & Invite to Regional Championship
